The Synopsis

A young supporter from the resistance at Gibraltar arrives at the Minerva to give the data necessary for their new mission. Athrun conducts a meeting with the rest of Minerva's crew and ace pilots, giving detailed instructions on how the mission has been planned. Towards the end of the meeting, Shinn treats the whole matter as trivial and insignificant, leading Athrun to reply that in that case, they should all just wait for Shinn to do the whole job by himself and for Shinn to let them know when he's finished. At that, Shinn stays silent. The young supporter, who looks to be a twelve-year-old girl, is reluctant to give the data over to the immature image of Shinn and asks why Athrun, being the commander, won't do it instead. At this, Shinn gets angry and echoes her question. Athrun, fed up with such childish behavior, informs Shinn that he wanted Shinn to do it because he thought that he had the ability to succeed; if the mission were impossible, Athrun would have assigned the job to himself.
With only the data to work off of and nothing but pitch blackness in the cave leading toward the back of the Earth Alliance's positron cannon, Shinn speeds his way through a series of colorful curses (most of which were directed at Athrun). The rest of Minerva's forces advance in a frontal assault to serve as a distraction until the arrival of Shinn's Impulse. When he comes out, Shinn battles his way to the mouth of the cave and throws an enemy unit into the quickly closing opening of the positron cannon, causing a huge explosion that destroys the vital areas of the Earth Suez base.
Shinn and Athrun return to the village of the resistance movement and are greeted with cheers from the newly-freed people. Shinn sputters his anger at Athrun for the ordeal he had been put through. Athrun smiles calmly and asks, "...You pulled through, didn't you?"

The Review

Fun episode. This is definitely a mentor-student relationship developing here with Shinn and Athrun. I couldn't help but laugh at the colorful language Shinn used while he was in the cave - my my he was maaad ^^;.
