The Synopsis

The death of Heine leaves a deep impression on Minerva's pilots, and Shinn most vocally. Athrun asks for leave of the Minerva to meet with Kira and the others. Captain Talia is unable to override him as a member of FAITH, and gives it. On his way through the port's streets, Athrun comes across Miriallia, a friend of Kira's who worked in Archangel's CIC during Jacchin Due. It's just his luck that he finds her of all people, the one person who can help him contact the Archangel.
She arranges a meeting at a secluded shore, and awaits the Archangel's reply. Deep in the sea, Captain Ramius and the others contemplate whether or not to reply to Miriallia's message. Kira makes the final decision though, and decides that it's a good idea if they want to know more about what's been going in with ZAFT. Cagalli tells him she wants to go too, and together, they are greeted by Miriallia at the arranged meeting place.
Miriallia informs them that Athrun has re-enlisted with ZAFT. This news doesn't go too well with Kira or Cagalli. Athrun arrives in the unit which Kira recognizes from the battle at Orb's waters. The tension between the four friends rise, and is broken by the shocking news that Kira gives about the attempted murder of the real Lacus. All the while, under Captain Talia's orders, Lunamaria has been eavesdropping on the four throughout the entire conversation. Shinn and Rey had been sent on a mission to uncover a mystery about an abandoned Earth base. When they turn on the lights, Rey suddenly seems to be in pain and very frightened. Shinn, confused, struggles to comfort his comrade from an invisible enemy.

The Review

A must see! I hate the fact that the former friends are suddenly not-so-friendly with each other. Athrun is in the middle of it since he is the only one who has decided to take a side. I think this all has something to do with Athrun not having a gundam in the beginning of this series. His Justice, the second pair to the Freedom, was destroyed in order to protect everyone from Chairman Zala's scheme in Jacchin Due. If you look at it that way, Athrun really had no power unless he returned to ZAFT to get a new unit. Perhaps now that he has it though, he may leave the Minerva and reunite with his friends again.
