The Synopsis
Shinn is taken in by the guards and sent to the Captain's office when he returns to the Minerva. Captain Talia tells him that he has this look on his face that says "he's ready for it." Talia, unable to do much other than to follow the rules, sends Shinn to the holding cells with Rey. Athrun watches as the tension in the atmosphere increases, and sneaks in for a visit with the prisoners. There, Shinn tells Athrun that he was only thinking about the girl, and how Captain Talia was going to ruin her life, that at least now she had a better chance to survive. He says that she was going to die on the ship. Athrun tells Shinn that what he did doesn't change things, that she will be controlled again. Shinn tells Athrun that the guy he turned her over to promised him that Stellar would be taken care of properly. Athrun continues to argue, and they are both cut off by Rey, who had been silently listening up until this point. Rey tells them that there really isn't anything they can do right now, what's done is done.
Meanwhile, Stellar has healed under the supervision of the Earth doctors. She is sent back to Neo, who has strict orders to follow a new plan. Neo doesn't look too happy about what he has to do, but he also doesn't seem to have much choice. He tells Stellar that they have to get rid of all the scary things who want to come and destroy them all, and sends her off in Earth's newest unit, XI Destroy. With this new tool and under Neo's reluctant brainwashing, Stellar sets off from Central Eurasia with an army of Earth Forces and destroys three cities in mere minutes.
Back in the Archangel, Kira wonders if they're really doing the right thing - that maybe Athrun was right to trust Dullindal. Ramius tells Kira that she doesn't really know about that, but she does know that protecting the ones they love is the right way no matter what happens. She tells Kira to just be himself and do what he can. Cagalli is also showing better leadership skills as she speaks with their newly acquired Orb allies. She tells them they have to fight to protect, and rallies their spirits.
The Archangel hears about the destruction of PLANT's cities, and so does the Minerva. Kira tells the others that he will be taking off, and Ramius gives him an understanding nod.
Dullindal releases Shinn and Rey from all punishment, rendering the entire matter as pardoned and excused. The entire crew of the Minerva is shocked, since Shinn's breach had been so extreme.
Shinn apologizes for worrying everyone in a rather dry voice, and faces Athrun with a cocky expression. He tells Athrun that someone at headquarters must agree with Shinn's sense of justice, and leaves the group with Rey following behind.
Back in the battlefield, Stellar is wreaking havoc for the ZAFT forces as she easily "destroys" all who oppose her.
The Review
Nooo! Athrun! Get back up there!
I'm beginning to think the directors have some underlying plan to destroy both Athrun's and Kira's reputation, thus setting the floorplan for rebuilding it into something more befitting this new world....
