The Synopsis

Himeno and Hayate watch silently as Sasame shares his last words with Takako. As Takako sheds tears over Sasame's upcoming death, both she and Sasame lose their black uniforms - all the Fenrir colors vanish into the air. Sasame tells Takako that his death will be his punishment for failing to protect her 16 years ago when she was pretear. He asks her to smile for him before he dies. When Sasame passes on, the other Leafe knights sense his disappearance. Himeno also cries. Suddenly the Great Tree of Fenrir snatches Takako as she becomes engulfed in her despair. It has found a new source of energy and begins to draw from it. Himeno, though badly injured, asks a likewise badly-injured Hayate to pretear with her so they can fight for Takako. Himeno becomes the Wind Pretear one last time and fights the Great Tree. The other Leafe knights send each of their individual powers to help her in the battle. She is no match, however, and falls to the ground. Hayate puts himself up as her shield as the Great Tree attacks an immobilized Himeno, losing his life force in the process. Hayate destroys the Trees branches and releases Himeno before falling to the ground in a dead faint (at this point, he may also have died). Himeno cries out as he falls, and holds him while she sobs.
A bright white light begins to form around Himeno, and she transforms into the legendary White Pretear. She watches in despair as Takako is engulfed by the Great Tree.
Finding a calmed resolve, Himeno raises herself to the sky and begins to give the Great Tree the Leafe it so desired. She continued to give more and more until the Great Tree overflowed and was destroyed. The white snow falls as Himeno catches Takako in the air. Himeno resurrects Sasame and Hayate. Hayate awakens to find Sasame looking at him, very much alive. He also finds Takako sobbing. He goes into shock when he sees that Himeno has not made it, and is lying in a bed of flowers as the White Pretear. The Awayukis, the Leafe Knights and Takako look sadly at Himeno's still form. Mayune begins to sob and scolds Himeno for being such and idiot.
Hayate leans down to tell her that she succeeded, and begins to cry. He kisses her and hopes that she will wake. After a few moments, Himeno blinks and rises again.
The next scene happens a few days after the whole battle. Mawata is teaching the young Leafe knights how to fold origami, while Natsue builds a plaster statue of Tipi with Kaoru. Hayate smiels at the others in Leafenia, telling them all is well. The others are creeped out by Hayate's unusual smile and comment on it as he leaves.
Hayate returns to the Awayuki gardens and meets up with a cheery Himeno. She asks how Sasame and Takako are doing, and there is a scene of Sasame and Takako together, smiling. Himeno tells Hayate that she is getting better at the kendana he have her when he was testing her qualifications for pretear. Hayate is surprised she still has it, and tells her to throw it away. Himeno refuses, and the two argue over it until the end.

The Review

Ever heard of those wicked stories that always end with "everyone is resurrected and they live happily ever after"? This definitely fits that description o.o.
This series went deep, though with a bit of a corny start. Many moral lessons, and many of which are very cliche. Overall, though, I enjoyed it for its excellent humor and beautiful artwork.
