The Synopsis

Himeno has finished setting up her own little garden in the patio connected to her bedroom. She remembers her mother teaching her that flowers need to be protected and taken care of to flourish, and she whips out the hose to spray them with water. The water, however, is poorly aimed, and ends up splashing all over Mayune who is standing below the patio. Horrified by Mayune's impending wrath, Himeno climbs her way down while Mayune rushes up through the mansion. Himeno sees her father waving goodbye to Natsue, who has to go out for some business. In the middle of their conversation, Hayate appears in a caretaker's uniform carrying two bags of plaster. He asks Kaoru where he should put them. Himeno, surprised at Hayate's appearance, pushes him to the ground and asks him what he thinks he's doing, coming up to her father in broad daylight. Kaoru explains that he saw Hayate walking around the Awayuki gardens and decided to hire him to help around. Himeno manages to trip herself and is caught by Hayate who, after a moment's hesitation, lets her fall the rest of the way to the floor. Hayate calls Himeno "Tulip Head" and Kaoru suddenly seems inspired and drags Hayate away with him, leaving a furious Himeno glaring after them.
Meanwhile, Kei entertains Shinn, Hajime, and Mannen with his new demon larvae-detection program. They find that the next most probable appearance of a demon larva would be at the Awayuki's. The three youngsters rush over to tell Himeno about it. Kei, who reads that the possibility is highly unlikely, decides to stay put. Himeno, upon hearing the news, decides to lead the four of them on a search advanture through the gardens. On their way, they are spotted by Tanaka, who claims to know every nook and cranny about the place. The group is horrified that he may have heard them talking about demon larvae, and try to lose him but fail. Tanaka takes them all on a long trail through the brush, leading them to meet monstrous creatures such as gorillas that kidnap Mannen, Shinn, and Hajime. Himeno is left alone with Tanaka, who later is flown away by what looks like a prehistoric bird. Mayune, after another failed attempt to pull a trick on Himeno (this time pouring a load of honey on poor Tanaka's head in place of Himeno's), lugs a huge bottle of mayonnaise for her next plan. She sees Hayate working outside and suddenly becomes furious with him for not noticing her beauty when she tried to seduce him. She rushes outside, intending to spray him with the mayo, but ends up getting it on herself when she almost runs into Go. Go, who was catering some food to Himeno's father, is then dragged to Mayune's bedroom. Mayune tries the same tactic she used on Hayate to seduce Go, but fails again. Instead of finding Go at the end of her shower, she finds Yayoi equipped with questions about Tanaka's possible love for Natsue. Go asks directions from Mawata, who gives it and leaves. He then finds Kaoru and apologizes for being late, and explains that he had been pulled away by some strange person. He spots Hayate there, who tells him curtly that he is working. The three young Leafe knights arrive back at the entrance to the mansion, thrilled with their meeting with Mr. Gorilla. Mr. Gorilla had even given them each a banana. Shinn is about to take a big bite out of this, when it suddenly falls to the floor. Shinn begins to cry, and attracts the attention of the maidservant Mikage. Mikage comforts Shinn by trading his banana for a handful of cookies. Shinn tells her that they're from Leafenia before Mannen plugs his mouth shut with another banana. Shinn finds Himeno using his control over plants. When the four return to Himeno's room, they discover that a demon larva has been planted in one of the flower baskets in Himeno's garden. It transforms to its full form, and begins to fight the knights. Hayate, sensing it the moment it transformed, arrives as Himeno's room in time to protect her while she tries to protect the children. Himeno then pretears with Hajime, becoming the Water Pretear, and destroys the demon larva. Hayate tells Himeno that the flowers say "thank you" and calls her "Tulip Head" as he tells her that her father is calling for her. Himeno, suddenly demon-eyed, glares at Hayate, which prompts Hayate to run away.
Kaoru is excited about his latest project and he tells Himeno that he wants her to be the first to see it in all its glory. He tells Himeno to pull the cover off, and the masterpiece is revewled: a humongous statue of a tulip. Kaoru tells her that it's named "Himeno." Hayate, who is watching in the background, turns his head and laughs. Demonic Himeno smashes the statue to pieces, to the Kaoru's dismay.
That night, Sasame meets Hayate as he exits the mansion. Sasame tells him "...To think that you would even work under her father in order to watch over her." Hayate tells Sasame that he will perform his duties as a Leafe knight in his own way. Sasame reflects on the words "Leafe knight..." and a mysterious smile comes over his face.
Mawata sits in her bedroom, listening to recordings of Sasame's radio sessions. Sasame's voice talks about how lovers seem to prefer to keep a distance so they may watch over each other, and that someday they may finally approach one another, hopefully.
