The Synopsis
Himeno has a dream where the Princess of Disaster pays her a visit. Fenrir (another name for the Princess of Disaster) tells Himeno that she can never be defeated by Himeno because Himeno is so weak, and takes away all of Himeno's Leafe. Himeno wakes up in fright, to find that Hayate is in her room. Hayate had destroyed one of Fenrir's familiars that was hovering over Himeno's pillow making nightmares. Himeno, after embracing him for comfort, suddenly thinks that he may have come for perverted reasons, and gives him a solid taste of her knuckle sandwich. In the morning, Himeno is running late again. As she rushes out her bedroom door, she punches Hayate again when he appears to be waiting for her. All the day long Hayate plays guard duty on Himeno, though Himeno doesn't know why. She thinks he's stalking her, and Yayoi proceeds to go wild with a story that Hayate must be madly in love with Himeno, who probably continues to deny her feelings. Himeno fixes her friend with an estranged stare and buries herself in the sand of the long jump in frustration. While Hayate is watching from the rooftop of the school building, Sasame comes by and tells Hayate that he hasn't seen him smile like that in a long time. Sasame asks Hayate if Fenrir is moving again, but Hayate says no. Sasame sighs and says that is okay then.
After school is over, Himeno tries to lose Hayate by hiding among the bushes. Suddenly she senses a presence similar to that of a demon larva except this one's different. At the same time, Hayate comes around and pulls her out, telling her to hurry up already. He flies her to the site where the signal is strongest, and they are joined by the rest of the Leafe knights. They see a cloud of Fenrir's familiars, which use the form of purple butterflies, carrying all the Leafe in the park to Fenrir herself. Hayate attacks the cloud of familiars with a blast of wind, but misses. The cloud comes down menacingly on the group, and just as suddenly disappear. Himeno is shocked, and tells the others that she saw those familiars in her dream the other night. Sasame puts the puzzle pieces together, and realizes that Hayate must have known about this dream, and had been guarding her all day. The other knights, upon hearing this news, get mad at Hayate for keeping this from them, and begin drawing guarding schedules. Himeno is also shocked at the news, and the sudden realization that Hayate was, in fact, not playing stalker but trying to protect her.
Meanwhile, as the butterfly familiars return to their mistress with their cargo of Leafe, Fenrir says that is not enough and that she wants more.
That night, Himeno sees Hayate carrying one of her father's plaster statues to the reception room, and decides to apologize for her maltreatment of him that day. She arrives in the wrong room, however, and accidentally gives her confession to her father, who was also setting up another plaster statue in the room. Himeno is confused and disoriented for a moment, until her father tells her that this is a different reception room than the one she is looking for. Realizing her foolishness, Himeno is about to leave when she takes closer notice of the plaster statue her father is setting up. It's another tulip statue, with the shiny label at the base that reads "Himeno Mark 2." Himeno, filled with righteous fury, drags the statue and her father down to the main hall where they both have a tussle. Himeno shatters the statue, to her father's dismay. Himeno laughs in her father's face, telling him that he deserved it.
All the ruckus awakens Mayune and Mawata. As the two sisters watch Himeno and her father argue over the loss of the statue, Mawata says their father-daughter relationship is wonderful. Mayune is thoroughly confused by Mawata's words, and heads up the stairs.
It's time for Sasame's watch, and as he makes his way down the hall, he carries a bag of Takoyaki. When he rounds the corner, he accidentally bumps into Mayune, who falls down the stairs and ends up covered in the Takoyaki. Sasame is immediately apologetic, and ends up dragged up to Mayune's room and given the same treatment as Hayate and Go. Mayune has Sasame hold her bathrobe while she takes a shower and tells him how lucky he is to be her servant.
Suddenly there is a blackout as Himeno tells Mikage that she'll bring the blanket Mikage was carrying up to her room by herself. This turn of events prompts Mayune to rush out of the shower and hug who she thinks is Sasame, only to find that it is in fact Tanaka. She becomes furious and punches Tanaka in a most unladylike way.
Sasame arrives at Himeno's room only to find that Mannen, who was supposed to be guarding Himeno, had fallen asleep in Himeno's bed. He tries to get Mannen to wake up, but can't get any information about Himeno's whereabouts.
Himeno meets Hayate in in the patio, and they both agree that the blackout was not a natural occurence. Hayate flies Himeno to the site where he feels the presence of Fenrir's powers, and it turns out to be the same site as the site in Himeno's dream. Himeno remembers this as the lights go out, and begins to get scared. Fenrir appears, and lures Hayate away to the church where she first transformed, leaving Himeno at the bridge with a demon larva to keep her busy. Fenrir asks Hayate why he tried to protect Himeno, and Hayate replies that it's because Himeno is the pretear. Fenrir laughs at this, and kisses Hayate as she passes through his body. She tells him he had better get back to his precious pretear or she might...and leaves the sentence unfinished with a laugh. Hayate suddenly realizes Himeno may be in danger, and rushes back to the bridge.
Himeno, without a Leafe knight to pretear with, is unable to fight back as the demon larva begins to take her Leafe from her. The knights are led to Himeno by Tipi, a creature from Leafenia, and arrive in time to help Himeno escape. Hayate arrives at the same time, and is scolded for leaving Himeno by herself.
Himeno pretears with Mannen, who says he should be chosen because he had failed her as her guard. Together they destroy the demon larva, using the Ice Blaster. However, even after the demon larva is defeated, some remnants of Fenrir's power suddenly surround the knights. Fenrir appears above them, and easily destroys the surrounding demon larva. She laughs at Himeno's shocked face, and tells her that as weak as Himeno is, Himeno can never hope to defeat Fenrir. Fenrir tells Himeno that she should prepare to die, and disappears.
Hayate and Sasame have a conversation by the pond in the Awayuki gardens, and they realize that they will have to fight after all.
Himeno, feeling upset and alone, looks for Hayate in the pottery room and finds that he isn't there. She sits at a nearby stool and thinks about how scared and weak she is.
The Review
The fact that Himeno is so whiney and weak is beginning to hit her hard. Maybe this is a turning point x.x;. Haha Himeno has an excellent punch though - poor Hayate @.@;.
